President and founder of the prestigious annual World Travel Awards, Geaham Cooke is an Englishman and a non-golfer. Perhaps these two facts explain how he came up with one or rather two of the wackiest ideas golf has seen for quite a while when he visited a 55 000 acre estate for the creation of The Legend Golf & Safari Resort which opens in a year some two hours north of Johannesburg.

   Legend Golf & Safari Resort

The Legend Golf and Safari Resort consists of an exceptional golf course with a luxury estate as well as facilities where wildlife and spectacular landscapes are all part of an intended lifestyle.

The Resort is situated within the Entabeni Safari Conservancy in the malaria-free Waterberg Region of the Limpopo Province of South Africa, where the Big Five roam free. This unique resort sets new standards in exclusivity and tranquility. It reflects the rich cultural legacy of this ancient part of Africa. An exceptional residential estate, where the Big Five roam free, epitomises a wholesome family lifestyle in the bushveld.

The Resort includes privately owned homes, but also an 18 Hole championship golf course, a golf academy, a driving range, a hotel, recreational facilities, a wellness centre, a “Field of Legends” sports complex as well as a multi-functional conference centre.

The design and layout of the Resort has been done in a way that minimizes the impact of the development on the natural environment. It preserves the pristine bushveld and makes the Resort one of the most environmentally sensitive of its kind in Africa.
